Dog Walking and Pet Sitting FAQs

Here's some common questions when looking for a dog walker or pet sitter in Leeds

Can my dog walk off the lead?

Of course! We love to let our dogs have a good run around! So long as your agree to the terms and conditions, your dog can be walked off lead. This will likely be after the first few walks so I can get to know your dog before letting them off lead.

Will you walk in hot weather?

Heatstroke can be dangerous and potentially fatal to our dogs. In extreme heat, I might not walk your dog if I feel there will be a risk to health. Drop-ins and let-outs will be arranged as an alternative wherever possible.

Where will my dog be walked?

Your dog will be walked in areas away from traffic and where they can have opportunity to explore safely, such as fields, parks and woodland areas. Occasionally they might get a trip out further than Leeds! Or even to the beach!

What if my dog has a medical condition or needs some special arrangements?

Your dogs medical history and any special precautions will be discussed during our initial consultations, and can be accommodated to the best of my ability. Please let me know of your dogs likes/dislikes/motivation/fears/tenancies during our consultations.

What happens if my dog needs emergency vet care during a walk?

Dogs will be dogs and will sometimes get themselves into sticky situations which may require first aid or even emergency care. I have recently completed a Dog First Aid course and carry a Doggy First Aid Kit in my van and on my person during walks. If I think your dog requires emergency vet care, I will make every effort to contact you (or your emergency contact), and may take them to a local vet for emergency treatment. Please see the Terms and Conditions.

How much time will you spend with my cat whilst I'm away?

This will depend on your cats needs. If you have an outdoor cat that is not home very often, it's likely I won't stay in your home other than to make sure the house is in order, litter trays are spot cleaned and the water and food is filled up.

If your cat - like mine - LOVES human attention, I will stay longer in order to give your cat some fuss and play and affection whilst your away, as well as feeding, replacing water and spot cleaning trays.

What if I need to cancel my service?

If you need to cancel an arranged service, please let me know 24 hours before the service was due to commence. Cancellations after this point may incur full payment of the intended service. See Terms and Conditions for more information about cancellations.

My dog likes jumping in muddy puddles. What if he's a mess when you drop him off??

Don't we all! For those pups that just refuse to keep it clean, I have a supply of towels and Mud Daddy in the van at all times to try and reduce the muddy pawprints when he comes home! During our consultation, we will talk about where your dog should be left after his walk to keep your house nice and clean!
